My Musical Scrapbook

It has been a great blessing to be able to join hands & hearts with these other ministries along the way in recording their worship to the Lord, either as a songwriter, worship leader, pianist or vocalist.  Each of these hold a special place in my heart, whether I played a small or a large role in the recording.

Discovery House Music/RBC Ministries/Day of Discovery

"Love Came for Me" (A Christmas Album) (2010) / What fun to write many originals and arrange classic carols for this Christmas recording! A special TV series will appear on Day of Discovery on the ION network over the 2011 Holiday season.   Watch for details!

"I Have a Song" (2010) / my newest worship recording with Discovery House....this project reflects the many ways the Lord met me in such a tangible way throughout the journey of my husband's accident.  TV program recorded in Israel was released in 2010 as well on Day of Discovery.

"Better Than Life" (Fall 2007) /  I had the wonderful honor of writing 6 songs on this project and recorded it with Scott Krippayne, who wrote three songs for it,  and Charles Billingsley.  Kent Hooper produced it and did an awesome job!  RBC Ministries and Mission Network News made it a reality!  It was written and recorded to raise awareness and support for the Persecuted Church worldwide.  Available on my website and also at www.dhp.org.  Includes "Count it All Joy,"  "These Scars,"  & "Send Me."

"Faithful God" - (2007) An all original praise and worship project with Discovery House Music.  It released in March of 2007.  Check it out on the "listening " page.  We recorded a TV special in Kauai (yeah, I know, we were really roughin' it) that aired in 2007 on Day of Discovery.

"We Celebrate You" - Discovery House's new praise and worship series entitled ADORATION began January 2006.  The first in the series of recordings is entitled "We Celebrate You" for which I got to write and record five of my songs, including "All Your Promises Are True."  www.discoveryhousemusic.com

"Celtic Cry" / (2000) a project (CD & DVD) written in honor of the Scottish Martyrs who gave their life for the sake of Christ, I recorded this with Matthew Ward, Scott Krippayne and Charles Billingsley.  We traveled to Scotland to record video footage and it was an amazing trip!

"Toddler Lullabies" - I sang several lullabies for this project and it was so fun and sweet to be a part of this project along with Clay Crosse and several other artists.

Day of Discovery RBC's TV show took me overseas to record footage of many of the songs I wrote and recorded with them to utilize on their TV programs and documentaries.  Some of our destinations included Israel, Egypt, Scotland, Kauai and...a prison in Ohio where Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Titles included: "I Have a Song", "Celtic Cry," "Worship in the Wilderness," "Faithful God" and "Better Than Life."

Assemblies of God Missions Department - What an honor it's been to partner with the AG missions department to help write for their last 4 or 5 Missions Musicals.  Every year they provide a six song project to all their churches nationwide in order to help them with music and video footage for mission's emphasis.  Produced and arranged by my dear friend J. Daniel Smith, I look forward to the privilege of writing for such a worthy and eternity impacting cause.  www.ag.org

Listeners Letters

"I received your cd "I Have A Song" a couple days ago. It has been ministering to me ever since. I don't think I could choose a single song that means the most. My husband and I are singing in the night right now, with a prodigal son and huge business difficulties. Thank you for allowing God to use you to minister to both of us. - Darla

"I wanted to take a minute to thank you for the gift of your wonderful Christmas CD. I cannot tell you just how much the Lord speaks through you in each track. Again, it is clear that His sweet anointing is upon you. The last two songs are amazing and no doubt God-inspired.
May Christ continually give you His divine inspiration to write and sing for His Majesty and glory." - Jiri / Ballet Magnificat

"I just wanted to contact you to say thank you and to let you know that God really, really used you to minister to me. I am 7 months pregnant with a baby that has been diagnosed with Trisomy 18. Everyone in the medical field says he will die within 6 months or so of birth. Other Christians have had babies with chromomsonal defects (including the singer of the group Selah) whose babies were not healed. It has never been done. I have had a difficult journey balancing faith that God could heal, but may choose not to, and knowing that He loves me either way. I was watching Day of Discovery and you were singing, "I have a song" and I just started crying knowing that no circumstance or tragedy can take away my Savior's love or my salvation. You inspired me with hope. I immediately went out and bought your cd and have listened to it multiple times every day since then. So many songs have blessed me and redirected my thoughts to the LORD and to HIs care for me. Thank you so very much." - Donna

"Shannon, I just wanted to tell you how blessed I was during your worship time at Maranatha last Saturday.  Thank you for making it all about Jesus and not about entertainment.  I am 49, divorced, childless and beginning the process of adopting 12 year old twin girls.  Your adoption story brought hope and healing to my heart.  Thank you for your ministry.  I have always loved your music. - Jill

"Shannon's 'Faithful God' is absolutely spirit filled.  It goes straight to my heart and then releases my praises to MY AWESOME GOD!  - Barb

"Thank you for being so open-hearted about your adoption journey.  We are in the process of adopting from Russia (16 months and counting) and "In the Waiting" has been our theme song.  Thank you for encouraging me and so many others who are on this incredible journey.  Be blessed!" - Karen

"My husband of seven years was not feeling well when I first started getting acquainted with the collection of songs on "Faithful God," and, in a short time, was diagnosed with cancer and died within five weekes.  As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult time for me, a time when I have cried out to the Lord as I've struggled with the many intense and unpredicatable emotions of grief.  Your songs have directed my mind to Him and the truths  and promises of His Word in ways that I have desperately needed.  Your songs, "Here in the Shadow," "Quiet Places," and "Whole Heart," have especially drawn me to my Lord and reminded me of His ultimate purposes for me, that I live completely in His love....thank you for your ministry to me at this time.  I knew you would want to know how God is using you in one believer's life. - Marilyn

"Love Came For Me" leaves me undone.   Every word and every note He has sung, played and written through you has always blessed and touched my soul deeply!  This album in no different!  simply beautiful!!! - Jamie

"Just thought you'd like to know how your music and your song "Cling" is changing other people's lives too...I sang your song in concert Sunday night at a prison here in Wisconsin. As I sang, I watched several men just weep as the lyrics pierced their hearts. Afterwards several men commented on how that specific song ministered to them. 28 men raised their hands to accept Christ that evening.  Thank you for your willingness to be vulnerable in your music -- it IS making a difference! -Karmen

"Hi Shannon!  I want to tell you what a blessing your ministry is to me!  Your songs make me stop and listen and worship God.  When I first heard you on the radio, it was the song, 'I Will Rest In You,' a few years back.  I cried in huge sobs!  It was during the time when my husband and I were in the thick of wrestling with God over our desire to have another child...Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing what God has taught you.  I am blessed by how you have submitted yourself and let God teach you during this extremely difficult limbo period...Please be encouraged that God is using you and your ministry in my life and in the lives of many others!  You are a beautiful reflection of Him!" - Judy

"I just thought you would like to know, I heard your song "In the Waiting."  That song was like I could have written it.  I immediately went to the store and bought your CD.  The next day I called our music director and told him he had to listen to not only this song, but the entire CD.  He loved it and asked me to sing it.  I sang it last week.  It was so awesome to sing that song, because I could truly sing it from my heart and from my life experiences.  Thank you so much.  Not only did your song minister to me, but I had SO many people come up to me afterwards and say how much the words of that song meant to them.  - Heidi

"Hi Shannon, I love your music.  I appreciate your attitude of worship and not performance.  Probably the highest compliment you can get in this earthly realm is to have people recognize the Jesus in your music and want to emulate it themselves in worship.  - Sally
